It’s high time we talk about walk-in closets/dressing rooms/whatever-you-like-to-call-it here on tpw, don’t ya think? I’ve forever dreamed about a walk-in closet (which girl hasn’t?) and in this post I’ll take you through my dream walk-in closet/dressing room step by step. Come along!

First and foremost, I dream of a small and cosy walk-in closet in colors like white, off-white or gray. I want it to be my own little safe haven where I love spending time (just not to try on clothes).
Secondly, the most important thing for me is the light. I don’t know how many times I’ve been swearing over bad light in my current closet. A light source like a chandelier is a pretty detail but it needs something more, like spotlights or a window. Thirdly, I am not an organized person per se, but when it comes to my closet I want it to be neat and organized. I want open built-in wadrobes that stretch from floor to ceiling with lots of storage space. I like to have my clothes on display, hence the open wardrobes, and color-coordinated. It’s both beautiful and efficient! I don’t have a lot of shoes but the ones I do have I want to put on display on shelves. My precious sneakers needs a place to rest! 😉
Fourth, I want full-length mirrors. The worst thing I know is not seeing my whole body when trying on something. Fifth, there has to be somewhere to sit down. A statement chair (Arhaus has lots of charming ones here), a pretty sofa or just something cosy (I love the idea of a window seat/nook like shown in the mood board).
Sixth, and one of the most important things, inspiration! Books, knick-knacks, flowers, photos — anything to inspire me! Seventh, I’ve always wanted an island in my kitchen so why not have one in my dressing room too?! It’s the final addition to make my dream walk-in closet perfect!
That’s pretty much what my dream walk-in closet looks like. Tell me about yours, and don’t forget to check out Arhaus the next time you’re on a shopping spree (they have very pretty furniture for the living room for instance)!
